Hi there! My name is Adrianne Dizon, and I’m currently a graduate student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Science Education in the College of Education. Prior to this, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a Pre-Professional concentration from the same institution (Go Rebels!). As an alumna, I enjoy mentoring students of diverse backgrounds and across all stages of undergraduate and early stages of graduate studies. I am fortunate enough to have seen my mentees from their first year in college to walking across the stage at commencement. My goal is to help students feel a sense of belonging and community at UNLV as well as building their toolkit for success in their studies and beyond.
After graduation, I aim to stay in higher education and become an academic faculty member. I am particularly interested in being able to advise and mentor graduate students as well as engage in scholarly research in my field. Of course, the path to professorship is not clear-cut, so this website will serve as a hub for all the resources and tips that I wish I knew earlier. The hope is to help support the next generation of students who aspire to be educators, scientists, and leaders.
